Veteran Nollywood actor Segun Arinze has revealed the reasons behind his decision to step away from the music industry, emphasizing that it was a personal choice and not due to failure.
In a recent interview on the podcast *Curiosity Made Me Ask*, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Arinze shared that he shifted his focus to acting to fully explore his passion for the craft.
“I didn’t fail as a musical artist. I left music on my own volition. If I wanted to do music, I would have continued,” he said. “I studied Theatre Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, and after graduating, I pursued music before deciding to concentrate on my acting career.”
Arinze also hinted at a potential return to the music scene but clarified that his comeback would be driven by passion rather than commercial aspirations.
“I can always go back to music. I didn’t fail. I’ve released two albums. I suspended my music career, and when I feel it’s time, I will go back. I still sing—the voice is still there,” he said.
He further added, “I will return to music, but not for commercial reasons. It will be purely for the love of singing, not for making money.”
Arinze remains a celebrated figure in the entertainment industry, known for his contributions to Nollywood and his enduring versatility as an artist.
