Senator Adams Oshiomhole Asserts APC’s Return to Power in Edo State

Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole announced on Sunday that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is poised to regain power in Edo State at the end of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s tenure in November.

Speaking at the new APC secretariat on Ikpokpan Road in Benin, Oshiomhole predicted that Edo State would experience a resurgence starting November 12, when APC’s governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, succeeds Obaseki. The event also marked the defection of PDP chieftain Nosa Adams and thousands of PDP members to the APC.

“We will work very hard to ensure the defeat of PDP, Labour Party, and the 13 other participating political parties in Edo,” Oshiomhole stated. “APC will return to governance of Edo State on November 12, 2024, when the second tenure of PDP’s Godwin Obaseki will expire.”

He emphasized Okpebholo’s grassroots connections, asserting that he would drive growth and development without relying on “big grammar, consultancy, or memoranda of understanding.”

“We need a governor who can do, not a governor who can talk. Okpebholo, the incoming governor, will work very hard for Edo residents,” Oshiomhole added.

Oshiomhole also stressed the importance of party unity and respecting party elders. He praised Nosa Adams for his role in facilitating the defection of key PDP executives at the ward and local government levels in Egor LGA, declaring that no PDP members remain in that area.
