Shock in Cross River as Laundry Shop Owner Allegedly Murders Two-Year-Old Boy

Tragedy struck in Ikang, Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State, as a man operating a laundry shop stands accused of gruesomely killing a two-year-old boy left in his care by his mother and harvesting the child’s internal organs.

Eyewitnesses recounted the harrowing incident, revealing that the suspect was a neighbor to the mother of the deceased toddler. Emem, a resident of the area, disclosed that the mother would often leave her son at the laundry shop on market days, Mondays, and Fridays, while she attended to business in the market.

Upon her return last Friday, the mother was devastated to find her son missing. Her frantic search led her to the laundry shop, where she made a horrific discovery: her son’s lifeless body amidst a pool of blood. The scene was described as chilling, with witnesses recounting the shock and horror that gripped the community.

Further examination revealed a knife near the clothes pile, stained with blood, suggesting it was the murder weapon. The gruesome find prompted a frantic search for the suspect, who was apprehended attempting to flee.

Despite severe beatings, the suspect remained silent, refusing to provide any explanation for his alleged actions. Subsequently, he was handed over to the police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
