Six secondary schools have advanced to the final stage of the 2024 Tax Club competition in Kwara State, organized by the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) in collaboration with the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.
The preliminary stages of the competition, which took place from June 24 to July 4, 2024, saw 83 of the 154 registered schools participate in a quiz conducted virtually from their respective schools. Twelve schools advanced to the semi-final, which was held on October 8 and 9, 2024, as an online Computer-Based Test (CBT) monitored by members of the KW-IRS Tax Club Advocacy Committee and Mrs. Roseline Ayansola, representing the Honourable Commissioner of Education.
The six schools that qualified for the final are:
– Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, Asa Dam
– Government Secondary School, Lafiagi
– Shepherd Secondary School, Lafiagi
– Government Day Secondary School, Gaa-Akanbi
– Kwara State College of Education Model Secondary School, Oro
– Anglican Boys’ Academy, Oro
These finalists will compete for the grand prize of N2.5 million at the final stage, scheduled for November 7, 2024, in Ilorin, according to a statement by KW-IRS Corporate Affairs Department.
