Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, expressed his profound joy and gratitude during the state’s Public Service Day celebration on Thursday, December 20, 2024. The governor commended the unwavering dedication of the state’s public servants, whose efforts he described as pivotal in driving Anambra forward.
In a heartwarming moment at the event, Governor Soludo recounted a lighthearted request he made for gifts from workers, a playful reversal of his usual practice of giving during past celebrations. To his surprise, a widow and cleaner in the Office of the Head of Service responded with a gift, a gesture that moved the governor to tears.
“The selflessness of this woman is a testament to the spirit of our public servants,” Soludo said, still in awe of the act of kindness.
As part of his appreciation for the workforce, the governor announced the immediate payment of the 2024 leave allowance and December salaries for all public servants, ensuring the payments are processed before the end of the day.
“Thank you again to our amazing public servants for all that you do. May Anambra continue to win!” he concluded.
The announcement was met with applause from workers, who hailed Soludo’s commitment to improving their welfare and promoting a culture of appreciation in Anambra’s public service.
