Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has extended his congratulations to Professor Au Nonyelu on his installation as the new Governor of Rotary International, District 9142.
Speaking at the International Convention Centre in Awka, Governor Soludo underscored the alignment between Rotary’s mission and his administration’s initiatives in healthcare, education, and human capital development. He noted that Rotary’s focus on these areas resonates deeply with the priorities of his government.
Governor Soludo also invited Rotary to collaborate through his administration’s Public-Private-Community-Partnership (PPCP) model, emphasizing their shared responsibility in Nigeria’s development.
Representing the Governor of Akwa Ibom, Pastor Umo Eno, Commissioner for Information Ini Ememobong praised Rotary International for its commitment to fostering societal values, change, and compassion.
In his address, Professor Nonyelu expressed gratitude for Governor Soludo’s transformative efforts in Anambra State and reiterated his dedication to Rotary’s ideals. He expressed confidence that with continued support, Rotary would thrive under his leadership.
Outgoing District Governor, Akan Ema, in his valedictory speech, reflected on his tenure, emphasizing Rotary’s adherence to its mission of societal value addition and thanked those who supported their initiatives.
The event was attended by distinguished personalities, including the Secretary to the Government of Anambra State, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi; Former Governor Peter Obi; Senator Ben Ndi Obi; Senator Uche Ekwunife; and Mr. Valentine Ozigbo. The ceremony also featured an award presentation to Governor Soludo.
