Soludo Commits to Transforming COOU Uli Campus During One-Day Working Visit

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has pledged significant infrastructural and educational interventions at the Uli campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU). The Governor made this commitment during a one-day working visit to the campus in Ihiala Local Government Area.

During the visit, Governor Soludo announced plans to reconnect the campus and surrounding community to electricity, provide internet access in public areas, and commence the phased construction of internal roads within the campus. He emphasized that these efforts align with his administration’s goal of fostering a productive and globally competitive education system in Anambra State.

Commending the orderliness of the campus, Soludo described education as the foundation for the future and stressed the importance of collaboration under the Public-Private-Community-Partnership framework. He also called on the host community to extend greater support to the institution.

Earlier, the Acting Vice Chancellor of COOU, Prof. Kate Omenugha, lauded the Governor’s visit and vision, stating that the development of the Uli campus could elevate it to a model institution akin to “another Japan of Africa.”

The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, praised the Governor’s ongoing initiatives in the education sector and urged continued support for his administration.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi; Ihiala Constituency representatives, Barr. Jude Ngobili and Hon. Golden Iloh; and Ihiala Mayor, Anayo Orjiakor, among others.

Governor Soludo’s visit underscores his commitment to revitalizing the education sector and improving learning environments across the state.
