Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has announced a ₦10 million bounty for information leading to the arrest of gunmen responsible for a deadly attack during a burial ceremony in Ihiala.
The Governor disclosed this during a condolence visit to the family of the late Bridget Akanma Onuchukwu at Umuike, Ubahuekwem Ihiala, following the tragic incident on Monday.
According to police reports, seven people, including security personnel, lost their lives when the assailants opened fire at a burial preparation venue. The attackers also targeted security operatives stationed near the Local Government Headquarters during their escape.
Governor Soludo expressed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, friends, and the community of Ihiala, condemning the violence. He assured residents that the perpetrators of the heinous act would be apprehended and justice served.
