Soludo Pledges Commitment to Youth Development at Anambra Conference

Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing youth development, describing his government as one dedicated to empowering young people.

Speaking at the second edition of the Anambra Youth Conference held at the International Convention Centre, Awka, Governor Soludo emphasized the importance of youth engagement in driving positive change. He urged Anambra youths to embody the solutions they desire, rather than contributing to societal problems.

The Governor highlighted the state’s ongoing “One Youth, Two Skills” initiative, promising that between ₦2.5 billion and ₦3 billion would be invested to empower participants by the end of the program. He praised the resilience and creativity of young entrepreneurs across the state, describing them as critical to Anambra’s future.

Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, echoed the Governor’s sentiments, affirming that youth empowerment remains a central focus of the administration’s agenda.

In goodwill messages, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, Special Adviser on Political Matters, and Dr. Nelson Omenugha, Special Adviser on Youth Empowerment Programmes, acknowledged the challenges faced by youths while commending Governor Soludo for creating opportunities to help them thrive as future leaders.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly; Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Chief of Staff to the Governor; and Igwe Emeka Ilouno, the Traditional Ruler of Ifitedunu. Representatives from ASATU Youth, Ohaneze Youth, and NANS were also present.

A keynote address and a panel discussion formed part of the conference, further emphasizing the role of youth as catalysts for societal progress.
