Soludo Pledges Educational Transformation, Plans Major Overhaul for Uga Boys Secondary School

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to advancing the education sector, with a promise to revitalize his alma mater, Uga Boys Secondary School, in Aguata Local Government Area.

Governor Soludo, who served as the school’s pioneer senior prefect 49 years ago, made the pledge during a visit to the institution. After touring the school premises, he announced plans to develop a comprehensive master plan for the school, which will include establishing full boarding facilities, functional solar-powered boreholes, and other infrastructure upgrades aligned with his administration’s goal of building smart schools.

Highlighting his government’s achievements in education, including the recruitment of 8,115 teachers, Governor Soludo expressed satisfaction with the increased student enrollment across the state. He further promised to cover the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees for Uga Boys Secondary School students for the next five years.

Accompanying the Governor on the visit were Principal Secretary to the Governor Barr. Joachin Anaeto, Commissioner for Education Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Aguata Local Government Mayor Dr. Chibueze Oforbuike, state lawmakers Hon. Anayo Okpalaeke and Hon. Tony Muobike, Post Primary School Service Commission Chair Prof. Nkechi Ikediugwu, and the Traditional Ruler of Uga.

The visit underscores Governor Soludo’s drive to empower future generations through education and modernized learning environments.
