The Chief of Staff to Anambra State Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, and his family celebrated their mother, Lady Christiana Mgboye Ezeajughi, as she marked her 92nd birthday at their Osikwu Village residence in Awgbu, Orumba North Local Government Area.
Lady Christiana, a mother of eight children, six sons, three daughters, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was honored with a Eucharistic mass officiated by Reverend Father Bonaventure Nnankiti, Parish Priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Nise.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by his Chief of Protocol, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, commended the Ezeajughi family for celebrating their matriarch while she is still alive, highlighting it as a gesture that aligns with his message to young people to value and honor their loved ones in their lifetime.
In his homily, Reverend Father Nnankiti urged Christians to dedicate their lives to serving God and humanity, emphasizing the need to shun evil and embrace righteousness.
Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr. Christopher Molokwu, extended his birthday wishes to Lady Ezeajughi and encouraged others to celebrate their loved ones during their lifetime, rather than reserving such tributes for funerals.
Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi thanked God for his mother’s long life and announced that the family would sponsor the education of 200 children as a tribute to her legacy.
Lady Christiana, in her heartfelt remarks, thanked God for His faithfulness and longevity. She also advised young people to maintain good lifestyles and avoid vices to live fulfilling lives.
