It is emotional to know that during the festive season of December 2024 till this moment, there was a high demand for flight bookings from major Nigerian cities to Chinua Achebe International Airport, Anambra, and all buses from key cities were fully loaded. However, it is important to also note that within this period, ndi Anambra, including Soludo, was unwilling to leave the state for any holiday, and most buses and flights that left Anambra within the period were unable to pick up passengers.
We are aware that for the past two decades, most of our people have been unwilling to travel back to our home state due to concerns about safety, poor road conditions, and issues with town union leadership. Unfortunately, these challenges caused so much distress and uncertainty. However, with Soludo assuming office in 2022, he has brought Solutions and confidence to the people. His efforts to improve security, build quality road infrastructure, and resolve town union leadership issues are undoubtedly making a positive impact on the lives of many.
Soludo has always been a great advocate for Ndi Anambra to bring back their wealth to their home state, and to partner with the government in building a liveable and prosperous homeland through Public-Private-Community-Partnership, for today, tomorrow, and future generations; a message he continued during the commissioning of various projects built by private citizens in their various communities. It is a memorable moment to see our people returning to their homeland following the 2023 mass return, and this festive period was no exception. Many ndi Anambra shared their “journey back to the homeland”, which was a beautiful tribute to their love and connection to their home state.
It is important to note that many guests and friends of Ndi Anambra faced challenges securing hotel rooms across the state due to the surge. This highlights the deep-rooted desire for people to spend quality time with their loved ones during the holiday season. It is heartwarming to see that Soludo’s think-home philosophy has encouraged people to return home, and we hope that everyone was able to find a way to make it a joyous and memorable time with their friends and families.
