Soludo’s Wife Exceeds Expectations in Free Seeds Initiative

The wife of Anambra’s governor, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has surpassed her initial goal of reaching 500 individuals with her ongoing free organic seeds program.

Earlier today, Mrs. Soludo announced the names of 131 new beneficiaries for the program’s fourth batch, bringing the total number of recipients to 587.

Interest in the program has surged since its launch on July 7, 2024, when 59 people signed up for the first batch. The second batch saw 179 participants, reflecting growing enthusiasm for the initiative.

Originally intended for 500 beneficiaries, the program was launched on July 4, 2024, as part of Mrs. Soludo’s celebration of her upcoming 54th birthday on July 31. Mrs. Soludo, who also leads the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, plans to announce winners on her social media and other platforms every weekend until the end of July.

Mrs. Soludo expressed that seeing the gardens thrive in all participating households would be the best birthday gift. She encouraged recipients to approach the project with dedication and excellence.

Due to increasing interest, Mrs. Soludo announced on July 16 that the program’s deadline would be extended to accommodate more participants.

Notably, Mrs. Soludo is the first and only first lady in Nigeria to implement such a program on this scale.
