Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the Anambra governor, has rolled out her healthy living program at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in the state, introducing initiatives aimed at promoting well-being among corps members.
During her visit to the Batch A, Stream two corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Mbaukwu/Umuawulu, Awka South Local Government Area, Mrs. Soludo emphasized the importance of healthy living for everyone and announced the launch of a pad bank initiative.
Addressing the gathering of over 1,700 corps members, Mrs. Soludo highlighted the significance of prioritizing healthy living and encouraged them to apply the lessons learned to enhance their own well-being and that of their communities.
She stressed that the knowledge gained from the program would be valuable beyond their time at the camp, especially for those who would be serving in schools and could impart the knowledge further.
The introduction of the pad bank initiative marks a new phase in the program, which is already operational in over 400 secondary schools across Anambra State.
Guiding the corps members through the program’s activities, Mrs. Soludo, represented by the Healthy Living State Coordinator and Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike, emphasized the importance of practical knowledge in areas such as diet and basic life support.
Mrs. Blessing Iruma, the Anambra State Coordinator of NYSC, underscored the significance of healthy living for all, including corps members, expressing her appreciation for Mrs. Soludo’s leadership in promoting well-being throughout the state. She commended Mrs. Soludo’s dedication to the healthy living program, highlighting her commitment to the welfare of everyone in Anambra State.
