SSG Bridgehead Chapter Inauguation: Market Chairman Lauds Governor Soludo On Security, Infrastructure

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Bridgehead market, Hon. Chinedu Ezekwike has lauded Governor Charles Soludo for the massive roads construction going on in the state which the market is a beneficiary of two: Niger street and Port Harcourt road, adding that the roads also extended into the market from Oduwanu street.

Hon. Ezekwike who said this at the inauguration of Soludo Support Group bridgehead chapter at Ogbogwu Main line, also listed other achievements of Governor Soludo and the essence of SSG which is to extend the achievements of the governor to all the nooks and crannies of the state.

While speaking on the theme, “You need to know,” he commended the Governor for giving him the opportunity to serve even as he described the establishment of SSG in the market as a welcome development

According to him,”We have a challenge, “Solution” slogan has more popularity than APGA, it has swallowed APGA as a party, I met some people and asked them whom to vote for, in the coming election, they replied solution”.

He added that the party has a duty to explain to the people of the state that Solution is not a political party but APGA slogan, if not some voters will be looking for solution on the ballot paper on the election day instead of APGA as a political party.

In his speech, the President General, PG, Anambra State Amalgamated Traders’ Association, ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna listed his two major achievements that contributed in moving markets in the state forward.

Addressing the SSG members led by their National convener, Chief Chinedu Nwoye, and the Bridgehead market traders headed by their chairman, Chief Chinedu Ezekweike, the ASMATA PG said that he was able to restore peace that eluded them prior to his appointment and also increased the Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, base that was #400 million when he came in, to #2.9 billion.

“I also hope to increase the amount to about #4 billion for 2024 if allowed to operate freely now that the stallage fee has been increased from #12, 200 to #30000, yearly for public market and from #7,500 to #17,500 for private market , I may generate about #10 billion.

Earlier in his speech, the SSG National Convener, Chief Nwoye, while inaugurating the market chapter, disclosed that the essence of setting up the SSG was to create awareness on the achievements of the governor, stating that some people did not know that the governor has been able to achieve a lot in the state.

He listed the achievements of the governor to include, about 400 kms of road, water tight security, employment of 8000 teachers, 1000 medical personnel, sack of touts, provision of solar street lights, creation of employment opportunity through one man two skills initiative, among others.

In his own contribution, the Special Adviser to the governor on Trade and Markets, Hon. Evarist Uba, stated that Governor Soludo has achieved a lot which all can bear witness to, pointing out that APGA will emerge victorious in the coming governorship election because of Soludo ‘s achievements.

He pleaded to the inaugurated SSG members to spread the good news of governor’s achievements to all and sundry like Christ charged the Biblical Apostles of Jesus Christ

The market SSG chapter was inaugurated amidst large turn up of traders who sang the governor’s praises and urged him not to relent in his achievements in the state.

Also, the general coordinator, Bridgehead market evangelism, Brother Analike Livinus, expressed satisfaction with the inauguration of SSG and commended the Nnewi Anglican Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Tev. Ndubuisi Obi, who Presided over the prayer session that preceded the inauguration of the SSG.

Among those that graced the occasion included, Ogbaru Relief market chairman, Chief Ndubisi Ochiogu, Onitsha zonal chairman, Chief Eric Uwaoma, Idemili zonal chairman, Chief Emmanuel Obiagwu, Oyi council Area chairman, Emma Nweke, among others.
