State Environment Ministry Receives Over 1000 Plants From Morizbo Group

In commemoration of the 2024 World Environment Day, and support of the Clean, Green, Healthy and Sustainable vision of Mr Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo the Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Environment has received over 1000 plants from the Morizbo Green Awareness Organisation.

Mr Chukwuebuka Vincent Ezike, the founder of the Morizbo Green Awareness Organisation, represented by Mr. Osunkwo Peter stated during the handover that his organisation was committed to tree planting projects with the vision of helping in the fight against climate change, beautification of our streets, enhancement of food availability and most especially helping in the tackling of gully erosion around the state.

He stated that the initiative would be a continuous program that shall be on board next year with a vision and mission of removing plastic and planting trees.

Responding, the Commissioner for Environment, Engr. Dr Felix Odimegwu thanked the Morizbo Green Awareness Organisation and the team encouraged them for their strategic partnership and support towards Clean, Green, Healthy and Sustainable environment initiatives of Mr Governor, Prof C.C. Soludo.

It would be recalled that similar plants donation by the foundation occurred in 2022 and the state Government acknowledged the zeal and passion of the organisation toward the Anambra environment.

On his part, Mr Obodogha Tochukwu, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment expressed appreciation to the foundation and urged Ndị Anambra to imbibe the idea of selfless efforts of tree planting because according to him, the trees have enormous importance to humanity and environment.
