Super Eagles B players will reconvene next week to continue preparations for their two-legged African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 qualifier against Ghana, scheduled for December. The team held initial training sessions in Abuja on Wednesday and Thursday, after which players returned to their respective Nigeria Professional Football League clubs for weekend matches.
Interim Super Eagles coach and Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, Augustine Eguavoen, commended the players for their performance during the short training period. “Very impressive, only two training sessions, but you can see that technically they are very good,” Eguavoen remarked on NFF TV, noting that while the players show promise, there’s more work to be done to unite them as a cohesive team.
The first leg of the qualifier will be hosted by Ghana from December 20th to 22nd, with the return leg set for Nigeria a week later. The aggregate winner of the two matches will secure qualification for the 2025 CHAN tournament, to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
