Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George, emphasized the crucial need for a positive result in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against South Africa.
The much-anticipated fixture is set to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo today.
With only two points from their opening two games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, the Super Eagles must secure a win against South Africa to revive their campaign.
Finidi acknowledged the pressure on his team, stating, “We’re prepared for the game. The players are focused and have worked hard to expect victory on Friday,” he told reporters. “We’ve put behind the AFCON clash in Ivory Coast. The AFCON and World Cup qualifiers are two different things. But overall, we’re condemned to win.”
