. Praises Gov. Soludo; Promises to Continue Working With Him

Thursday, May 8, 2025, the president and commander in chief of the armed forces, Fedral Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu was in Anambra state for a one-day working visit.
President Tinubu while speaking during a civic reception held in his honour at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka agreed that the state was the erosion capital of Nigeria and therefore pledged to understake “ecological investment” in the state to tackle the menace and acknowledged the state’s huge gas reserves, noting that its omission from the National Gas Master Plan would be addressed.
Speaking on abandoned federal road projects in the state and region, the president said, “Abandoned federal road projects that link Anambra to Kogi can become the fastest gateway between Abuja and Anambra and South-South. I agree”.
The President further addressed the state’s exclusion from the National Rail Master Plan, assuring the people that the Federal Ministry of Transportation would rectify the omission.
“I am standing before you to say that the Ministry of Transportation is aware and will include the connection in the Master Plan and give it attention”
He commended Governor Soludo’s efforts in improving security, and reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to collaborating with Anambra and the Southeast to ensure peace, stability, and shared prosperity.
‘‘ Anambra is rising and we will rise together. We have the solution, we have Charles Soludo. With our progressive ideological alliance, we will continue to partner with your state to deliver shared prosperity in Anambra and to all Nigerians. We will continue to be brothers.. We must work together to build a united Nigeria”.
In his address of welcome, the Governor of Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo noted that the president’s visit symbolised a new era of collaboration and shared progress between the federal and state governments under a united progressive ideology.
” This visit is not just to commission projects. We have over 500 kilometres of roads, flyovers, and bridges completed and waiting for commissioning. We are implementing bold, people-centric programs, free education, healthcare for women, youth empowerment, and massive agricultural initiatives that align closely with the Renewed Hope Agenda,’’
He commended President Tinubu’s for his numerous economic reforms, appointment of ndi Anambra into the Federal Executive council, establishment of Southeast Development Commission and appointing an Anambra son, Mark Okoye as the pioneer Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, infrastructure projects amongst others
Moreover, Governor Sokudo said, “APGA is ideologically and strategically aligned with the centre. In Anambra, we are firmly and comfortably progressives. Mr. President, Anambra stands with you—not just in support, but in shared conviction.
“For the sake of Nigeria and future generations, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must succeed. We are prepared to support him in every possible way, not just to succeed, but to excel.”
In their respective remarks, an elder statesman and former Commonwealth Secretary General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Lady Ada Chukwudozie,
Chairman, manufacturers Association of Nigeria (southeast), Sir Emeka Offor, Chairman/CEO of Chrome Group and Rapuly Nwezekwe Prince praised the Governor for his numerous projects and informed the president that the Anambra people were returning the Governor for a second term in office.
The Anambra state Traditional Rulers Council Chairman, and the Traditional Ruler of Obosi community, HRH, gwe Chidubem Iweka, alongside other ndi Igwe Anambra conferred the chieftaincy title of “Dikesimba Anambra” on the President, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
During the visit, President Tinubu commissioned the Solution funcity with country club, Anambra state government house and lodge, the Emeka Anyaoku Bourlevard and the Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and
Diplomacy, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Southeast, Delta state, Bornu, Osun Governors, Ministers, Senators, House of Representative members, Anambra state speaker and assembly members, state executive members, ndi Igwe, youths and others attended the event.
