President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State for leveraging technology to transform education and enhance security in the state. The President described the governor’s efforts as a step toward 21st-century development, positioning Enugu for significant progress.
Tinubu made these remarks during his state visit to Enugu over the weekend, where he inaugurated several landmark projects executed by the Mbah administration.
#### Inauguration of Command and Control Centre and Security Vehicles
During the visit, the President commissioned a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre and 150 surveillance-equipped vehicles aimed at boosting security in the state. He commended the governor’s dedication to creating a secure and investment-friendly environment.
“This has assured me that more revenue allocated to sub-national and local governments is not a waste. With committed leaders like Mbah, Enugu is on a path of 21st-century development,” Tinubu said.
The President also highlighted the importance of private sector leaders transitioning into public service, noting that their experience could bring about transformative development.
#### Governor Mbah’s Vision for Enugu
Governor Peter Mbah, founder of Pinnacle Oil and Gas, outlined his administration’s vision to transform Enugu into a $30 billion economy within the next eight years.
“Our goal is to grow Enugu State from a $4.4 billion economy to a $30 billion economy, making it one of Nigeria’s top three states in GDP,” Mbah said.
He emphasized the pivotal role of security in achieving this vision, showcasing the state’s AI-enhanced security system, which includes a statewide CCTV network operated through the newly commissioned Command and Control Centre.
“The framework of our security system is designed to nip crime in the bud and react swiftly when there’s any breach. This initiative helps guarantee a sense of security even when the threat of crime is remote,” the governor added.
#### Other Projects Commissioned
President Tinubu also inaugurated other notable projects during his visit, including:
– **30 completed Smart Green Schools** out of 260 under construction across all wards in Enugu State.

Tinubu described his visit as a “homecoming,” expressing his joy and relaxation in Enugu. “This is a serious demonstration of what we can do and build together. It reassures me that development at the sub-national level is achievable with committed leadership,” he concluded.
The President’s visit underscored Enugu’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation, security, and economic development.
