President Bola Tinubu praised Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo as a “statesman” committed to transformative development, during the opening of the 2024 Anambra Investment Summit held at the International Convention Center in Awka. Represented by Dr. Emeka Obi, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, Tinubu highlighted Soludo’s pioneering projects as catalysts for sustainable growth, drawing a parallel to his own initiatives in Lagos that paved the way for the state’s economic evolution.
This year’s summit theme, “Changing Gears: Accelerating Anambra’s Economic Transformation,” set the tone for discussions aimed at advancing investment in the state. In his remarks, Governor Soludo celebrated the robust strategic partnerships emerging from the summit, emphasizing Anambra’s readiness for economic investment and urging citizens to contribute to the state’s growth.
The Managing Director of the Anambra Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, Mr. Mark Okoye, detailed that current projects align with the state’s sustainable and bankable development goals. The event drew goodwill messages from prominent figures, including Kenyan High Commissioner Isaac Keen Parashina, UNDP Resident Representative Elsie Attafuah, Cosmas Maduka, and Chief Emeka Offor, all expressing optimism about Anambra’s investment potential.
A highpoint of the summit was the presentation of progress on last year’s Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and the signing of new MOUs with eleven firms across various sectors, marking another step forward in Anambra’s economic transformation journey.
