President Bola Tinubu, alongside governors, lawmakers, and other leaders, marked the Christmas season with messages of hope and encouragement, assuring Nigerians of a brighter economic future in the coming year.
In a statement on Tuesday, Tinubu extended heartfelt prayers to families grappling with pain and loss, while emphasizing the values of love, compassion, and unity as central to the spirit of Christmas. He acknowledged recent tragedies, including stampedes in Ibadan, Okija, and Abuja, expressing deep sorrow for the victims and urging Nigerians to show kindness to those in need.
“Nigeria is on a promising path of restoration and progress,” Tinubu said, urging patience as his administration continues its reforms. He also called for prayers for security forces and leaders working to stabilize the nation.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and governors including Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Muhammadu Yahaya (Gombe), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), and Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau) echoed these sentiments. They encouraged citizens to reflect on the virtues of Christmas—love, sacrifice, and compassion—while expressing optimism about overcoming current economic challenges.
Federal lawmakers and key political figures, such as Nyesom Wike, Minister of the FCT, and Adebayo Adelabu, Minister of Power, emphasized unity, prayers for peace, and the importance of reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
