President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s determination to address Nigeria’s security challenges and ensure a safer nation.
Speaking on Monday at the Regimental Dinner Night in Abuja, held in honor of the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day, President Tinubu, represented by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, assured Nigerians of the government’s resolve to equip the military with the resources needed to combat insecurity.
In a statement by Levinus Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, Tinubu commended the professionalism and resilience of the armed forces in the fight against insurgency. He pledged to prioritize the welfare of military personnel and honor the sacrifices of those who died serving the nation.
“This gathering emphasizes not only our shared dedication to the security and unity of our great nation but also the countless sacrifices made by the men and women who have served. The Armed Forces of Nigeria represent the cornerstone of national security and the embodiment of hope, peace, and integrity for our country,” Tinubu stated.
The president emphasized the need for innovation and adaptability in tackling evolving security threats, pledging continuous investment in the military’s capabilities.
“The road ahead will not always be easy, but together, we can overcome any challenge. We will ensure that our armed forces personnel have the necessary resources and support to carry out their duties effectively,” he assured.
Tinubu also praised officers recognized by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, for their exemplary service, describing them as models of dedication and commitment.
“To the award recipients, your work contributes to the safety of our nation and serves as inspiration for others in the armed forces and beyond. You are the lifeblood of our military, and we celebrate your achievements tonight,” Tinubu added.
He urged Nigerians to support the military and foster unity through mutual respect and cooperation. “May we continue to support one another to strengthen the bonds that unite us,” he concluded.
The dinner, part of activities marking the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, highlighted the military’s dedication to safeguarding national security and unity.
