Nigerian singer and Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage revealed that she brushed her teeth six times in preparation for a kissing scene in her debut movie, “Water & Garri.” Savage shared this detail during a recent interview with BET, highlighting her commitment to making a good impression on set.
“The first day on set, I had my kissing scene. I’m glad it was my first day because I just went right into it. I remember in my dressing room, I brushed my teeth like five, six times because I felt I needed to represent,” Savage explained. “But, he was very lovely. All of the cast was. They were really, really nice.”
In the film, Savage plays the lead character Aisha, and shares the kissing scene with co-star Andrew Bunting, who portrays Kay. “Water & Garri,” produced by Tiwa Savage and directed by Meji Alabi, premiered on Prime Video on May 10. The movie was filmed in Cape Coast, Ghana.
The cast includes Tiwa Savage (Aisha), Andrew Bunting (Kay), Mike Afolarin (Mide), and Jemima Osunde (Stephany). This film marks Savage’s first foray into acting, adding another dimension to her illustrious career.
