World record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles, Tobi Amusan, is optimistic about securing a medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Despite missing out on medals in Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, the 27-year-old is determined to make this year her breakthrough.

Amusan expressed her confidence after qualifying for the semifinals on Wednesday, posting a time of 12.49 seconds to comfortably beat USA’s Alaysha Johnson and Janeek Brown, who finished with times of 12.61s and 12.84s, respectively.

Reflecting on her Olympic journey, Amusan said, “The first time I came as an Olympian, I was like 18/19, the second time I think I was a little bit experienced and I didn’t get on the podium. This time I think, it’s my season.”
