World record holder Tobi Amusan secured first place in the women’s 100m hurdles at the national trials in Benin City on Monday, marking her fourth national title win. Fondly known as “Tobi Express,” Amusan finished the race in 12.78 seconds, outpacing Adaobi Tabugbo, who came in second with a time of 13.33 seconds, and Faith Osamuyi, who finished third at 13.36 seconds.
The 27-year-old hurdler is aiming for a podium finish at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, following her fourth-place finish in the women’s 100m hurdles final at the Tokyo Olympics four years ago.
Amusan is also set to compete in the African Senior Athletics Championship in Cameroon later this month.
