Renowned Nollywood actress and media personality, Toke Makinwa, recently took to her Instagram page to voice her exhaustion with being an independent woman in the face of prevailing economic challenges.
Makinwa, who had just returned from a foreign trip, expressed dismay over the economic hardships she encountered upon her arrival in Lagos. She highlighted the ongoing fuel scarcity and electricity tariff hike as particularly distressing factors.
In her Instagram post, she lamented, “Yoooo, landed in Lagos to all this madness, petrol scarcity, electricity tariff hike, diesel prices not smiling. What is all these? Independent woman don taya [tire] o.”
Toke Makinwa’s candid expression of frustration resonated with many, drawing attention to the harsh realities faced by individuals navigating the economic landscape in Nigeria.
It’s worth noting that Makinwa’s personal life has also been marked by challenges, including her separation from her estranged husband, Maje Ayida, in 2015, following revelations of infidelity.
