Nigerian media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa, has revealed that she is open to the idea of being a second, third, or even fourth wife, citing her current life stage as a factor in her perspective on marital choices.
The 40-year-old shared her thoughts during the latest episode of her podcast, *Toke Moments*, which was posted on her YouTube channel. In a candid conversation with her guest, fashion entrepreneur Banke Kuku, Makinwa discussed the pressures and realities of independence as a woman.
She said, “At this point in my life, if I have the opportunity to be the second, third, fourth or fifth wife, I will take it,” admitting that she sometimes feels the need for a partner to lean on.
“I am the boss everywhere, and that could be tiring,” Makinwa explained. “You feel like you need someone to lean on. Someone that could decide what is for dinner. Must it be me?”
Makinwa, who was previously married to businessman Maje Ayida in 2014 before their divorce in 2017, also addressed rumors surrounding her personal life. In November 2024, reports emerged that she had married her longtime partner, Farouk Umar, but Makinwa quickly dismissed these claims. She clarified that they were not married but were simply “besties,” and that the alleged wedding was actually a Thanksgiving event.
