Speaking at various motor parks in Awka, some travelers expressed their concerns to ABS News. Miss Empress Emmaculata, who was traveling from Anambra State to her hometown in Afikpo, Ebonyi State, described her excitement about spending the holidays with loved ones. However, she noted that her transport fare this year had doubled compared to last year, leaving her financially strained.
Similarly, Mr. Valentine Maluife and Miss Goodness Onuoha, both en route to Abia State, highlighted the importance of the yuletide season for family bonding and reconnecting with old friends. They appealed to the government to find sustainable solutions to the skyrocketing prices of goods and services, including transportation fares, to ease the hardship on citizens.
