Pharmaceutical company Trustee Drugs Inc. has unveiled a groundbreaking healthcare application, Trust HelpCare, designed to revolutionize health management in Nigeria through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). According to a statement from the company, Trust HelpCare leverages Google Gemini AI to provide users with a personalized healthcare assistant, accessible for free on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Trust HelpCare is designed to help users track their health, manage chronic conditions, and enhance their overall well-being. The app’s development was spearheaded by pharmacists and brothers, Dr. Vern Ohaya and Dr. Jude Ohaya, who are also the founders of Trustee Drugs Inc. They aim to empower Nigerians by making health management more accessible and user-driven.
The company highlighted that the app is suitable for anyone with a smartphone, offering features that cater to a broad range of health needs. Powered by Google Gemini AI, Trust HelpCare provides insights across 24 health parameters, including physical fitness, nutrition, chronic disease management, and mental health.
“With this app, users can monitor their health more effectively and make informed decisions that can significantly impact their well-being,” Dr. Vern Ohaya stated.
One of the standout features of Trust HelpCare is its ability to communicate with users in English as well as Nigeria’s major indigenous languages, including Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo, making it widely accessible across the country. The app is designed to be user-friendly, even for those who may not be tech-savvy.
Users can create detailed health summaries to share with doctors and healthcare providers, especially in emergencies. This summary includes information on physical fitness, nutrition, sleep patterns, and mental health. Additionally, users can upload health reports by taking a picture or uploading a document, which the app will then analyze to provide personalized insights.
Trust HelpCare also prioritizes user privacy, allowing users to delete their health data at any time, giving them full control over their information. The company emphasized that privacy and security are central to the app’s design, addressing growing concerns in today’s digital landscape.
Looking ahead, Trustee Drugs Inc. plans to release a new feature that will integrate over 300 wearable devices, enabling users to sync data from fitness trackers, smartwatches, and other gadgets. This expansion is part of the company’s mission to reduce the reliance on healthcare facilities for routine check-ups and minor health issues, which could alleviate some of the strain on Nigeria’s healthcare system, particularly in rural areas where access to doctors and hospitals may be limited.
Trustee Drugs Inc. believes that Trust HelpCare has the potential to significantly improve patient care and reduce medical errors by providing a simple yet powerful tool that anyone can use, ultimately enhancing the overall health landscape in Nigeria.
