Tragedy struck in Ondo town, Ondo State, as two lovers were reportedly electrocuted during an intimate encounter.
The incident occurred in the Ayeyemi area of Ondo town, according to an eyewitness. The deceased, identified as Eric and his yet-to-be-identified girlfriend, were found lifeless in a new apartment in the area.
Vanguard gathered that the lovers’ bodies were discovered stuck together, suggesting they were engaged in a sexual activity when the tragedy occurred.
A source explained, “The secret lovers were electrocuted during the sex romp. The generator was running in the premises, and a phone plugged into a power socket to charge was seen placed on the bed. It might be possible they had contact with a naked wire resulting in their electrocution.”
Relatives of the deceased man discovered the tragic scene after their phone calls went unanswered the following day. They looked through a window, spotted the bodies, and broke down the door to gain entry.
Ondo State Police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation had commenced. “The man and the woman are lovers who were known by both relatives. They died in the room but they were not stuck together. We are yet to know the cause but the investigation has commenced,” Odunlami said.
