The Umunta Royal Family of Enugwu-Otu Aguleri marked its 2024 Cultural Carnival with great fanfare, drawing members from across the globe to celebrate their rich cultural heritage and unity.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nnamdi Okagbue, Secretary of the Planning Committee, noted that the carnival, which began in 2016, aims to showcase the community’s cultural legacy and underscore its ancient royal values. He added that the celebration serves as an opportunity for the royal family to initiate vital community projects annually.
Chief Obinna Okagbue emphasized the event’s role in fostering unity among family members, both at home and in the diaspora, while promoting peace and a shared commitment to the community’s development.
Other speakers, including Sir Amaechi Nmakasi and Chief Ikechukwu Anyawumelu, praised the carnival for its unifying and joyous atmosphere, expressing hope for an even grander celebration in 2025.
The colorful event featured masquerade displays, captivating music performances, and traditional dances by the women’s group, adding to the vibrant end-of-year celebrations for the Umunta Royal Family.
