The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has signaled its commitment to deepen its partnership with the Anambra State government to foster sustainable youth development initiatives within the state.
During a recent engagement, the Coordinator of UNDP, Mrs. Joyce Oburu, conveyed the organization’s readiness to collaborate with the state government in the formulation and execution of programs aimed at empowering the youth.
Mrs. Oburu, in discussions with the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, lauded the potential of the “1 Youth 2 Skills” empowerment initiative, emphasizing its capacity to catalyze positive socio-economic transformation within the state. She particularly commended Governor Soludo for his leadership in driving this initiative forward.
In response, Commissioner Agha Mba expressed gratitude for UNDP’s unwavering commitment to advancing youth-centric initiatives and affirmed the state government’s willingness to work closely with the organization. He underscored the timeliness of the partnership, highlighting its potential to invigorate the “1 Youth 2 Skills” program for enhanced efficacy.
Commissioner Agha Mba also extended appreciation to Governor Soludo for his steadfast support for youth development in Anambra State, assuring that the forthcoming phases of the program would yield even greater impact.
The meeting, attended by key stakeholders including the Special Assistant to Governor Soludo on Youth Development, Engr. Tony Omata, and UNDP focal person, Mr. Kosi Wetala, featured the presentation of branded materials emblematic of the “1 Youth 2 Skills” initiative to the UNDP delegation, among other significant discussions.
