Unlock NOCEN Full Potential, Soludo Charges As He Inaugurates Onyali-Ikpe Led Governing Council

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR., has charged the newly inaugurated Nwafor Orizu College of Education Governing Council, Nsugbe led by Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe as chairman to unlock the full potential of the institution.

Governor Soludo gave the charge earlier today at the Anambra state executive council chambers, Government House, Awka where the Dr. Onyali-Ikpe led NOCEN governing council was inaugurated.

Said he, ” As I inaugurated the Board of the Governing Council of Nwafor Orizu College of Education (NOCEN), fond memories filled my mind. This esteemed institution is where my teaching journey began, and I had the privilege of teaching Economics as a part-time lecturer while pursuing my Master’s degree.”

” My emotional connection to NOCEN runs deep, but I firmly believe it’s time for transformative change. I tasked the Board, led by the visionary Dr. Nneka Onyali-Ikpe, MD/CEO of Fidelity Bank, with revolutionizing the institution’s operations, leveraging their expertise and resources to unlock its full potential. I have every confidence in this exceptional team to drive meaningful change.”

Moreover, Governor Soludo said the appointment of Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe was based on her impeccable credentials and experience as a seasoned banker and corporate leader noting that the decision was in line with the government’s efforts to reposition the college as a leading institution for teacher education and professional development in Nigeria and beyond.

In her vote of thanks on behalf of the newly inaugurated governing council, Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe appreciated the Governor for the confidence reposed in her and members of the Council and pledged to work to transform the college and position it for global competitiveness

Others who were inaugurated alongside her were Prof. Cele Aguruo, Chief Fidelis Nweke, Rev. Sr. Prof. Uju Dibua, and Ven. Dr. Rex Kanu.

Highpoint of the event was the official oath of office and oath of allegiance taking by the council chairman and members.

Dr. Justina Anyadiegwu, NOCEN Provost, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe, Head of Service, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Sylvia Ifemeje, Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, Special Adviser to the Governor on Legal matters, Barr. Tochukwu Nweke and others attended the event.
