The commissioner in charge of works and infrastructure in Anambra state, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma and the President Generally of Ekwulobia community have stated that the ongoing construction of Ekwulobia flyover when completed would solve all the traffic issues in the area.
Okoma who said this while answering questions during solution chat by the I-Witness Media Office recently on the reasons behind the flyover design, importance and execution.
Said he, ” Ekwulobia is a town located at the intersection of two federal roads. One came from Awawbia – Agulu – Nanka – Ekwulobia – Uga – Akokwa and the other from Nnobi – Awka-Etiti – Isuofia – Ekwulobia – Oko – Umunze and as such was a transport hub.
” During festive periods, people spend upwards of six hours in traffic and there was poor management of traffic in the area. But we are building a modern bus terminal that will take care of all commercial buses in the area and manage all traffic situations including the flyover”.
The Commissioner further stated that the flyover being built by the Soludo administration should have been built so many years ago but it took a visionary leader to take up such a huge project that when completed would solve the perennial traffic situations of the area.
On his part, the President General of Ekwulobia Town Union, Chief Azubuike Ezechukwu could not hide his happiness for the level work done so far on the flyover.
He thanked Governor Soludo for raising the bar in administration in the state and said Ekwulobia people and residents were happyy and commended the companies handling all the projects in the town for delivery quality jobs.
