Renowned Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has called on Nigerians to prioritize seeking blessings from their parents with their first salaries rather than giving them to religious leaders.
The actor, known for his iconic roles in the Nigerian film industry, also challenged the tradition among Nigerian Christians of giving their first salary of each year to pastors, stating that such practices are not supported by biblical teachings.
Taking to his Instagram account, Kanayo emphasized the importance of receiving parental blessings by writing, “Take your first salary to your father for his blessings not your pastor.”
In his message, he questioned the validity of pastors claiming ownership of individuals’ first salaries, urging Christians to reevaluate their financial decisions in the context of their faith.
Kanayo’s stance reflects a growing awareness among Nigerians about the need for responsible financial management and a critical examination of religious practices.
Meanwhile, in other news, Anyim Vera, a member of Dunamis International Gospel Center who gained notoriety for allegedly fabricating a testimony, has been apprehended by the authorities.
