Former Super Eagles winger Victor Moses has ended his stint with Luton Town after just one season, following the club’s relegation to League One.
The 34-year-old joined the EFL Championship side from Spartak Moscow on a free transfer at the start of the season. However, his time with the Hatters proved short-lived, as the club endured a disappointing campaign that saw them relegated for a second consecutive year, having dropped from the English Premier League last season.
In an official statement, Luton Town confirmed that Moses, along with Netherlands international goalkeeper Tim Krul and several other first-team players, will not be offered contract renewals. The club expressed gratitude to the departing players for their contributions during the season.
“First team squad players also departing include goalkeepers Tim Krul and Jameson Horlick, and winger Victor Moses upon natural expiry of their contracts,” the statement read. “We would like to thank Kal, Tim, Victor, Jameson and Josh immensely for their contribution to the Club this season and wish them well for their future careers.”
Also leaving the club are Josh Bowler, who returns to Nottingham Forest after a short loan spell, and Kal Naismith, whose half-season loan ends as he temporarily returns to Bristol.
Victor Moses has enjoyed a decorated career, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Europa League during his time at Chelsea. He was also a key part of the Nigerian national team that lifted the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
His next move remains unknown, but the veteran winger is expected to attract interest given his experience and achievements at the highest levels of football.
