WAEC Announces Computer-Based WASSCE for Private Candidates, Extends Registration Deadline

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Nigeria has announced that it will conduct the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB-WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2024 Second Series, from Friday, October 25 to Friday, December 20, 2024.

This was disclosed in a statement by Adesina Moyosola Fadekemi, the Acting Head of WAEC’s Public Affairs Department. The examination will feature a hybrid format, combining both computer-based and traditional paper-and-pen options. Multiple-choice questions will be answered on-screen, while essay and practical responses will be written in provided answer booklets.

WAEC has extended the registration period until Tuesday, October 29, 2024, and also introduced a “Walk-in-Candidate” option, allowing candidates to register 24 hours before their chosen paper.

Candidates are encouraged to take advantage of WAEC’s online learning platforms, such as the e-Study platform and WAECKonnect, and to download the final timetable from the WAEC Nigeria website for further details.

WAEC remains committed to making its services more accessible through technological innovations and has wished all candidates success in the upcoming examination.
