The immediate past governor of Ebonyi state, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and present Minister of Works, Sen. Engr. David Nweze Umahi has publicly declared that he alongside other progressives were learning governance from the governor of Anambra state, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
Senator Umahi made the revelation recently when he attended the flag off ceremony for the construction of 35km access roads to the second Niger bridge held at Osile village, Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra state.
The minister did not mince words in praising and commending the governor of Anambra state for his sterling performance in the state.
He pointed out that he thought he did wonders in Ebonyi when he was governor but came to Anambra state and witnessed first hand what the governor was doing and declared that Soludo’s government house and lodge dwarfed what he built in Ebonyi state
Minister Umahi buttressed that no one can talk about ndigbo without talking about Anambra and that the state government had given to the people a truly befitting government house and lodge.
He recalled his visit to the Anambra governors lodge/government house when Mr Peter Obi was governor and vowed never to return but praised Governor Soludo for giving ndi Anambra a truly befitting government house and lodge among other infrastructural projects.
The former governor highlighted that he and other progressives were learning governance from Soludo and that ndi Anambra should give him maximum support because he was working just as he pleaded that they support President Tinubu too because according to him, the president had awarded Federal road projects for the state and southeast region and that they were all ongoing.
Responding, the governor of Anambra state, Professor Chukwuma Soludo thanked him for his kind words even as he informed him that had the government commissioned the Solution Funcity in Awka which was housing the biggest water park in Nigeria, a country club and other attractions, that he would have taken him there to relax before leaving for Abuja.
Soludo stated that the state government was spending about N160b on dualization of Federal Roads in the state and called on the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to award the Nzam – Kogi Federal road which according to him will reduce travel time from Anambra to Abuja to less than three hours.
