Governor Chukwuma Soludo has announced that his transformation agenda for Anambra state was anchored on the African Dubai Taiwan Silicon Valley (ADTSV) as against the already known African Dubai Taiwan (ADT) mantra and that plans were on to achieve this vision.
Professor Soludo stated this recently during the Anambra State Youth Conference 2.0 held at the ICC in Awka and attended by persons drawn from various youth organizations and convened by the APGA state youth leader, Dr Tochukwu Obiadi.
He stated that Dubai Taiwan has to do with fundamental ideas. ” Its no more ADT its ADTSV (African Dubai Taiwan Silicon Valley. Anambra is innovation hub. This placr is innovation state”, he said.
The Taiwan component of ADTSV according to him was founded on human resource development through investments in education. In order to achieve this, he said that his administration had recruited over 8115 youth – teachers and deployed them to various schools in the state.
Soludo emphasized that the free education policy of the state government from primary to secondary school had seen tremendous increase in schools enrollment in the state thereby making it the state in Nigeria with the least number of out-of-school children.
He recalled that his administration had procured over 2000 laptops and shared to teachers in the state, continued subventing mission schools and even pays salaries of teachers in mission schools in the state and capacity training for teachers.
” With all these we are doing on education, we are on the way to Taiwan”, the governor declared.
Speaking on the Dubai component of the ADTSV, the governor opinied that with massive infrastructural projects ongoing and completed coupled with the designs of Awka 2.0 and Onitsha mixed industrial use city, building of 10-storey Marriott hotel in Awka, dualization of Federal roads in the state, the light rail project whose feasibility studies have been completed, urban regeneration agenda of the state government, building the biggest water park in Africa called the Solution Funcity and so many other, making Anambra, the Dubai of African was achieable, he said.
He noted that the push to make Anambra the silicon valley of Africa was already ongoing with the designation of present Anambra state government house land measuring over 13hectares of land for the building of the Solution Innovation District where tech gurus would be operating from.
He pointed out that over 25000 persons had been trained on digital skills and just recently, the stated added another 2500 persons after the week-long Anambra innovation week organized by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Business Innovation and Incubation, Ms Chinwe Okoli where over one hundred million naira was won by tech gurus that completed in various categories.
