Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a woman, Yemisi Ogunlana, for allegedly using a sharp object to severely injure her husband’s private organ during a domestic disagreement.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Monday night. According to Odutola, the 31-year-old victim, Idowu Adebowale, reported the incident to the Ogijo Division, stating that his 28-year-old wife attacked him during a minor dispute in the early hours of October 15.
Adebowale revealed a severe cut near the tip of his penis as evidence of the assault. Following the report, detectives promptly arrested the suspect. While Ogunlana denied the allegations, the seriousness of the injury led authorities to issue the victim a medical form for treatment.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation. Odutola noted that the matter is being treated as a suspected case of domestic violence fueled by uncontrollable anger.
