Yellow House emerged overall champions at the 2025 Inter-House Sports Competition of All Saints Seminary, Ekwulobia, held at the Central School Field, Ekwulobia.
The event, which featured activities such as match past, 1500m, 400m, and 4 x 100m relay races, was attended by the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Chibueze Oforbuike, parents, and other dignitaries. Yellow House claimed first position with 11 gold medals, while Green House followed with 2 gold medals. Blue and Red Houses secured one gold medal each.
Speaking at the event, the Bishop of Aguata Anglican Diocese and Proprietor of the Seminary, the Right Reverend Dr Samuel Ezeofor, represented by Venerable David Obiagboso, applauded the ongoing spiritual and structural reforms in the school. He described the sports competition as a platform for students to stay physically fit and build discipline.
He commended parents for entrusting the Diocese with the training of their children and appreciated House patrons for their commitment to the seminary’s growth.
The Principal and host of the event, Venerable Dr Ifeanyi Mgbemene, stated that the third edition of the inter-house sports competition was designed to celebrate the God-given talents of students. He emphasized that sports are vital to academic life, promoting both mental and physical development. He expressed confidence that new talents would be discovered at the event and thanked Bishop Ezeofor for his support.
The Seminary’s Director of Sports, Mr Udolisa Agusiobo, encouraged parents and guardians to support their children in developing their sporting skills, noting the many benefits of early exposure to athletics.
The event ended with prize presentations to winners and expressions of hope for continued excellence in future competitions.
