The Anambra State government has signed ten Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with eleven development firms during the second edition of the Anambra Investment Summit, themed *“Anambra: A Land of Infinite Opportunities.”* The event was held at the International Convention Centre in Awka.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who signed the agreements on behalf of the state, described Anambra as a hub of boundless opportunities and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering partnerships that drive sustainable economic growth and development.
The MoUs encompass diverse projects aimed at transforming the state’s economic landscape. Key partnerships include:
– **National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA):** Development of agro land.
– **Genesis Energy and VFD Energy:** Establishment of Independent Power Plants (IPPs).
– **Axxela Limited:** Implementation of gas reticulation systems.
– **MP Infrastructure:** Development of the Onitsha New City.
– **Marich International:** Creation of Awkuzu Park.
– **JNC International:** Construction of the Anambra Oncology Center.
– **CardinalStone:** Support for the Anambra Development Investment Corporation (ADIC).
– **United Nations Development Programme (UNDP):** Establishment of a MakerSpace Hub.
– **Marriott International:** Development of the Awka International Hotel.
– **Protea Hotels:** Upgrade and rebranding of the Agulu Lake Hotel.
Governor Soludo expressed optimism about these collaborations, noting that the projects align with his administration’s vision of creating a prosperous and inclusive economy. He also reiterated his openness to engaging more strategic investors to harness the state’s vast potential.
