In an effort to foster collaboration and support for the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), the Ag. Vice Chancellor, Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha, emphasized the pivotal role of the COOU Alumni, UK Chapter, during a recent gathering in Lincoln, United Kingdom.
Addressing members of the alumni association on Saturday, April 27, 2024, Prof. Omenugha stressed the importance of alumni engagement in driving the growth and development of the university. The meeting served as a platform for strategic discussions aimed at aligning the UK Alumni Chapter with the university’s “3Vs Strategic” vision.
“We urge you to remember where you all started because the Alumni Association will lead from the front in the coming years,” stated Prof. Omenugha, emphasizing the significance of alumni involvement in shaping the future of the university.
Highlighting recent initiatives to enhance collaboration and consultation, Prof. Omenugha underscored the importance of leveraging technology and ethics to propel the university forward. She also announced plans to officially inaugurate the UK Alumni Association, inviting all COOU graduates residing in the United Kingdom to join the association.
Mr. Bernard Obimma, the Convener of the UK Chapter, expressed gratitude to Prof. Omenugha for her support and pledged the chapter’s commitment to fulfilling its role in advancing the university’s objectives. He emphasized the potential of the UK Alumni Association to make significant contributions to the university’s growth, citing its large population across Europe.
The meeting concluded with a call to action for alumni to mobilize and engage in periodic meetings, as well as to support key initiatives such as the Ojukwu Museum project.
