The President General of Nnobi Welfare Organization, Barrister Dominic-Savio Okpala, has called on the Anambra State Government to take decisive action against individuals he described as enemies of peace in the community.
Speaking in reaction to recent allegations, Okpala dismissed claims made by Chief Daniel Ajaghaku, the Palace Secretary, and Mr. Emeka Okwelume, Chairman of Awuda quarters, that misinterpreted his figurative remarks about his time in detention. He firmly denied any involvement with illicit drugs, stating he had never used them in his life.
Okpala expressed disappointment over what he termed a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation, noting that he and other well-meaning stakeholders have made significant sacrifices to sustain peace in Nnobi. He stressed that sustaining harmony now rests on the accused individuals and their supporters.
Highlighting achievements during his tenure, Okpala pointed to improved security and the establishment of order in the community. He warned against further actions that could threaten the fragile peace in Nnobi.
Responding to the situation, Chief Ajaghaku urged the President General to adopt a more conciliatory approach and promote dialogue as a means of addressing community disputes. He emphasized the importance of inclusive governance for the benefit of all residents.
